Fuel System Services
At SES Construction and Fuel Services, we are focused on serving the oil and gas-related construction market by providing design, construction and testing of fuel systems and piping, with a special emphasis on military aircraft fuel systems. Services offered include designing, building, and maintaining bulk fuel facilities, piping and pipeline systems. Our personnel are experienced in integrity testing of large underground fuel systems at airfields, and in repairing leaks, recovering fuel using vacuum extraction, and remediating areas affected by fuel releases.
Fuel System Replacement – Robins Air Force Base, Georgia
At an active gas station, our team installed three 15,000-gallon double-walled steel fiberglass-coated USTs, 700 ft. of triple-walled product piping, nine dispenser sumps, and a new leak detector monitoring system. Following removal of the old fueling system, we over-excavated the UST pit.
Defueling Line Leak Detection and Heliport Repairs
– Fort Campbell, Kentucky
Potential leaks in the defueling lines at Campbell Army Airfield were investigated and repair work was completed at the Sabre Heliport. The Tracer Tight™ leak detection test was used to check the integrity of the defueling lines at Pumphouses 1 and 2. At the Sabre Heliport, the fuel filter house also needed roof repairs to prevent water damage to interior equipment and bollards were needed to protect fuel lines from incidental damage.
Diesel Fuel Generator Upgrade – Patrick Air Force Base, Florida
SCF completed a $2 million design-build optimization and upgrade of a medical facility’s primary and emergency power systems. Two 455kW generators, two diesel fuel day tanks, and the associated pipelines were removed. Our engineers designed a new system requiring only one 500kW generator and a single diesel fuel tank – significantly reducing the system footprint, installation costs and long-term operating expenses. New fuel lines, in welded stainless steel, and a fuel monitoring and control system with remote access were installed.
